Our goal is to create a wedding experience that maximizes quality time with everyone invited. In order to do so, we are planning four different smaller weddings for each of the places that we have lived in. Chicago, DC, Michigan & New York. To set some expectations here:
Wedding Size
We'll be limiting the size to about ~20 people in total per event. Each event will hopefully more closely resemble a weekend trip with friends rather than a standard wedding weekend.
Venue
The venue will likely be in Brooklyn, Michigan, pending RSVPs. We rented out a large Airbnb where we will all stay at, host a small ceremony, and have a weekend full of group activities. Each of the venues we're trying to ensure bedrooms for all, but some might be shared bedrooms.
Food & Drink
Given the size, we'll be hanging out at the house so we may bring in catering for specific meals or just do some group cooking.
Cost
We're treating this more like a weekend trip with friends. We'll be subsidizing the cost, but would like to split the cost of housing & food while we cover the cost of drinking & miscellaneous costs. We think this would cost similar to what booking a hotel & food would cost anyways.
Activities
More details below, but be prepared to play competitive games. It may be some form of jeopardy, pickleball, drinking games, etc.
No Gifts
Because we're asking people to contribute to the cost of the event we are explicitly stating no gifts. The only gift we ask for is participation in activities. The reason we are trying smaller weddings is so people do not clique off. The best gift we can have is everyone socializing & having fun.

Feel free to arrive at the venue any time after 4 pm.
phoevin & brian will be there setting things up for the weekend. we’ll be picking up groceries & alcohol on the way there.

october 10th
starting the day off with a large group breakfast. groceries for the weekend will include plenty of eggs, sausage, etc.
on Friday, I'll be splitting all us into four "houses". We'll be competing in several different field day games. The theme, college keg night. Think Monster's U with shades of Animal House. I'll share the teams & house theme with each group. Some on theme dress up is appreciated, but don't feel the need to go out and buy anything unless you want to.

wake up. its game day. another large group breakfast. who is doing the dishes?
after an active friday, we’ll be relaxing a little bit more by the pool and spending some time getting ready.
a small wedding ceremony where we still dress up. boys in suits / sport coats. girls in colorful dresses.
followed by a less relaxed reception think house party with karaoke.
